Ingredients

Group: Ingredients
  • 1 lb. shrimp, large, peeled and deveined
  • 1/4 cup tequila, blanco
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice (about 2-3 limes)
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil, extra virgin
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp. smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper, freshly cracked

Equipment

  • Grill
  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 Skewers Soak in water if using wooden skewers.

Method

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the tequila, lime juice, olive oil, minced garlic, smoked paprika, kosher salt, and black pepper. Whisk until well-combined. Add the shrimp, tossing to coat each piece thoroughly. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. If using skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Thread the marinated shrimp onto the skewers, placing about 4-5 shrimp per skewer. Grill for 2-3 minutes on each side or until they turn pink and have grill marks.
  4. Remove the skewers from the grill, arrange on a platter, squeeze lime juice over the shrimp, and sprinkle with chopped cilantro. Serve immediately with lime wedges.

Notes

Ensure to marinate the shrimp for at least 30 minutes for the best flavor. Shrimp cook quickly, so keep an eye on them to avoid overcooking.
