Ingredients

Group: Salad Components
  • 1 lb. fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 8 oz. fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced into rounds
  • 1 handful fresh basil leaves
Group: Balsamic Reduction
  • ½ cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

Method

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the balsamic vinegar over medium heat. Bring to a gentle simmer, reduce heat to low, and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens to a syrupy consistency. Set aside to cool.
  2. On a large serving platter, alternate slices of fresh mozzarella and strawberries in an overlapping pattern starting with mozzarella.
  3. Once assembled, generously drizzle the cooled balsamic reduction over the salad, followed by a touch of extra virgin olive oil, and season with salt and freshly cracked black pepper.
  4. Gently tear additional basil leaves and scatter them over the dish for added fragrance.
