- In a small saucepan, combine the balsamic vinegar over medium heat. Bring to a gentle simmer, reduce heat to low, and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens to a syrupy consistency. Set aside to cool.
- On a large serving platter, alternate slices of fresh mozzarella and strawberries in an overlapping pattern starting with mozzarella.
- Once assembled, generously drizzle the cooled balsamic reduction over the salad, followed by a touch of extra virgin olive oil, and season with salt and freshly cracked black pepper.
- Gently tear additional basil leaves and scatter them over the dish for added fragrance.
