- Rinse the basil leaves under cold water and pat them dry.
- Toast the pine nuts in a dry skillet over medium heat until golden brown, about 3-5 minutes.
- In a food processor, combine basil, toasted pine nuts, garlic, and Parmesan. Pulse until coarsely chopped.
- With the processor running, drizzle in the olive oil, stopping to scrape down the sides as necessary. Blend until smooth and creamy.
- Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and black pepper as desired.
- Serve immediately or store in an airtight container, covered with a layer of olive oil.
