Method
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Remove the silver skin from the back of the ribs to allow the spices to penetrate better.
- Combine the smoked paprika, cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
- Rub the spice mixture onto both sides of the ribs and let marinate for at least an hour, ideally overnight.
- Wrap the ribs in foil and bake for 2.5 to 3 hours until tender.
- Unwrap the foil, brush BBQ sauce over the ribs, and grill or broil for 5-10 minutes until caramelized.
- Let the ribs rest for a few minutes before cutting and serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
Notes
Marinate overnight for stronger flavor and be careful not to overcook on the grill/broiler.
