Ingredients

Group: Ingredients
  • 4 6 oz salmon fillets, skin-on preferably skin-on for added flavor and moisture
  • ½ cup honey local, raw variety recommended
  • 4 Tbsp. unsalted butter European-style for a richer taste
  • 2 count limes, juice and zest freshly squeezed
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro or parsley for garnish optional

Equipment

  • Non-stick skillet
  • Small saucepan
  • Whisk
  • Spatula

Method

  1. Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, combine honey and lime juice. Whisk until glossy and thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.
  3. Melt the unsalted butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat until bubbly and golden brown.
  4. Place salmon skin-side down in the skillet, pour half the honey glaze on top, and cook for 4-5 minutes. Flip, drizzle remaining glaze, and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes.
  5. Plate salmon, drizzle with remaining sauce, and garnish with cilantro or parsley.

Notes

The quality of honey significantly impacts the flavor, enhancing the dish.
