Ingredients

Group: Ingredients
  • 1 lb. flank steak
  • 1 lb. shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 Tbsp. unsalted butter, divided
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 Tbsp. fresh parsley, chopped plus more for garnish
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 Juice lemon

Equipment

  • Grill or Skillet
  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • Meat thermometer

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of melted butter, minced garlic, paprika, salt, pepper, olive oil, and lemon juice. Whisk until fragrant, then add the flank steak and shrimp, making sure everything is evenly coated. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes at room temperature.
  2. Preheat your grill to medium-high or place a skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
  3. Remove the steak from the marinade, allowing the excess to drip off. Sear the steak in the skillet or on the grill for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 130°F. Allow it to rest for 5-10 minutes covered with foil before slicing.
  4. While the steak is resting, cook the shrimp in the same skillet (or grill) with the remaining marinade for about 2-3 minutes per side until opaque and pink.
  5. Slice the steak against the grain and plate it with the grilled shrimp. Drizzle with remaining melted butter and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Rest the steak after cooking for better juiciness and tenderness. Adjust the marinade ingredients to your taste for a personalized flavor.
