Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
Group: Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • Muffin pan 12-cup capacity

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 12-cup muffin pan with cupcake liners.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, and then mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix into the wet mixture alternating with the milk.
  5. Fill each cupcake liner 2/3 full with batter and bake for 18-20 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. Prepare your favorite frosting while the cupcakes cool and frost as desired.

Notes

For best results, avoid overmixing the batter, and ensure all ingredients are at room temperature.
