Ingredients

Group: Turkey Burger Mixture
  • 1 lb. ground turkey preferably 93% lean
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs whole-wheat is recommended
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp. Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp. smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp. salt or to taste
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. fresh parsley chopped

Equipment

  • Grill pan or skillet
  • Large bowl
  • Plate

Method

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and fresh parsley. Mix until slightly sticky.
  2. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties, about 1/2 inch thick. Create a small indentation in the center of each patty.
  3. Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium heat. Optionally, add a touch of olive oil. Cook the patties for 5-6 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 5-6 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  4. Toast the burger buns lightly and assemble the burgers with toppings such as lettuce, tomato, and avocado.
  5. Serve immediately with your favorite side dish.

Notes

Letting the patties rest for a few minutes before serving helps retain their juices.
