Ingredients

Group: Chicken and Vegetables
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 large green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 large onion, sliced
Group: Creamy Mixture
  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
Group: Seasoning and Rolls
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 12 slider rolls potato or Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • optional toppings like hot sauce or garlic powder

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Baking sheet
  • Oven

Method

  1. Start by heating the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced bell peppers and onions, stirring occasionally, until they become soft and caramelized—this should take about 7-10 minutes.
  2. Once the vegetables are perfectly sautéed, stir in the shredded chicken. Then, add the softened cream cheese and whisk until the mixture is glossy and creamy.
  3. Stir in the shredded provolone cheese, allowing it to melt and bind all the ingredients together. Season generously with salt and pepper to enhance the flavors.
  4. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the slider rolls in half and lay the bottom halves on a baking sheet. Spoon generous portions of the chicken mixture onto each roll, then cover them with the top halves.
  5. Place the assembled sliders in the preheated oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the tops are golden and crispy. Allow them to cool for a few moments before serving warm.

Notes

Ensure your chicken is moist; dry chicken can lead to unappetizing sliders. Skipping the cream cheese can affect the richness.
